The USD/INR extends losses in the afternoon session weighed by a jump in local stocks and as the euro regains some of its footing against the dollar amid renewed hopes that a deal may be reached in the ongoing Greek debt write-off negotiations, says the head of currency trading at a state-run bank. The pair is at 49.42 vs 49.68 earlier and compared with 49.79 late Monday. "There were sizeable capital inflows during the session and that has ignited hopes that the INR may be supported further as foreign funds will continue to buy into attractively-valued Indian stocks," he adds. The dealer tips the pair in a 49.30-49.55 band for the session. The Sensex ended up 2%.
